Established in 1066, Torre a Cona boasts a rich heritage, surviving wars and serving as a sanctuary for priceless Italian treasures during WWII. This Riserva comes from the 'Badia a Corte' single vineyard at 328 meters above sea level, representing one of just 27 wineries within the Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG. This wine has won the International Wine Challenge Silver award for the 2019 vintage, showcasing the exceptional terroir of Florence's hillsides.
Tasting Notes
Bright carmine red color with sour cherry and red forest berries on the nose, slightly savoury and floral aftertaste of violet. Smooth on the palate, with well-integrated and fine-grained tannins, juicy and fresh, with a long finish. Raspberry, cherry and savoury truffle notes with hints of fresh herbs, leafy savoury fruit and a cedary finish. The wine displays aromas of cherry kirsch, blackberry, and rich milk chocolate, complemented by notes of vervain, sage, and lavender.
