Founded by Jonathan and Susan Pey in 2004, Textbook Vineyards emerged from a simple declaration: "This is textbook Oakville Cab." The Peys combined their knowledge of European wine culture with their pursuit for Napa Valley excellence, creating wines that reflect the power of Napa Valley balanced by European sensibility. With winemaker Abigail Estrada sourcing small lots from diverse climates and soils, and her experience from Italy, New Zealand, and prestigious Napa producers like Robert Mondavi, each bottle expresses the quintessential qualities of its terroir.

Tasting Notes

Luxurious and velvety, this full-flavored Cabernet brings together dark plums and blackberries dripping with ripeness and sprinkled with cocoa, with palate-coating tannins balanced through a persistent finish. Aromatics open with blueberry, dried cranberry, blackberry jam, and mocha, while big supple tannins and ample oak flavors are sumptuous across the mid-palate, resulting in a classic Napa Valley Cabernet with boldness and intensity combined with restrained elegance. Dark plum and mocha are elegantly framed by pleasingly playful tannins, and the mouthfeel is round and sumptuous, with notable balance.

Pairs With

Grilled ribeye steak, braised short ribs, aged cheddar and charcuterie, dark chocolate desserts
