From Haiti's oldest rum house, established in 1862, this exceptional Estate Reserve was originally crafted exclusively for the Barbancourt family's private consumption until being released to the public in the 1960s. This true agricole rum follows French-style distillation using pure sugar cane juice rather than molasses, creating a spirit that beautifully reflects its Haitian terroir. Aged 15 years in French Limousin oak barrels, it delivers remarkable sophistication and depth that rivals fine cognac.

Tasting Notes

Rich aromas of caramelized brown sugar and ripe tropical fruits greet the nose, with subtle hints of oak and vanilla mingling with cinnamon and dried citrus peel. The palate opens with smooth sweetness of caramel and toffee, giving way to warming spices like cinnamon and black pepper, complemented by notes of candied pineapple, clove, and dried orange. The long, elegant finish begins sweet and evolves to showcase a return of citrus and spice accents with butterscotch and vanilla undertones.

Food Pairings

Crème brûlée, dark chocolate truffles, aged cheeses, Cuban cigars
