Produced by Ptujska Klet, Slovenia's oldest winery whose cellars were first built by Minorite friars in 1239 beneath the medieval streets of Ptuj, these historic stone vaults have housed treasures including the oldest Slovenian wine from 1917. This "Haložan Orange" is an ode to the traditional local wines of Štajerska and the ancient winemaking techniques of skin contact fermentation for white wines, paying tribute to the long history of skin-fermented wines in the region.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, Haložan Orange is fresh and fruity with aromas of stone fruits, dried herbs and zesty notes of subtle graphite. Gentle tannins on the palate with fresh acidity and loads of exotic fruits and herbs. This fruit-filled version shows aromas and flavors of yellow plum, tangerine and white flowers. It is imminently crushable with a light tannic texture.
