Established in 1860, Prosper Maufoux has been crafting exceptional wines for more than 160 years from their deep connection to the land in Burgundy. Sourced from forty-four acres of Pinot vines in the Vigne au Roy Vineyard, where topsoil is thin allowing clay-limestone soils to absorb warmth and maintain excellent drainage. The warm 2022 vintage was perfect for this cooler region, resulting in a plush, round, and exciting Pinot Noir.

Tasting Notes

Pale in color with bright red berry fruit plus forest floor character and a touch of spices, this wine has impressive concentration on the medium-bodied palate. Floral notes of rose hip and violets intermingle with mushroom and rhubarb on the nose, revealing notes of black cherry, savory mushroom, wet shrub and green peppercorn. The tannins are silky for this appellation and the mineral acidity is well integrated in the long, bright finish.
