Portia, Summa Tempranillo, 2020 Ribera del Duero, Spain

Crafted by Bodegas Portia, the 7th winery of prestigious Grupo Faustino, this ultra-limited Summa represents their 'Vino de autor' category, emphasizing the winemaker's individual artistry. Made from century-old bush vines in their Finca Fuentellamas vineyard with only 3,900 bottles produced, this wine showcases the extraordinary potential of the Golden Triangle terroir in Ribera del Duero. Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels and a total of over 40 months, this is a modern expression that prioritizes grape character over heavy oak influence.

Tasting Notes

Very deep wine with a clean, bright ruby color showing garnet evolution. On the nose, very intense and spicy with notes of clove, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. Reminiscent of jam and red fruits with a presence of toasty notes. Very pleasant on the palate, tasty with good acidity, homogeneous and smooth texture. Very long finish that is gourmand and complex. Memories of fruit and light touches of barrel are maintained with notes of cacao.
