Founded by enologist Giampaolo Parpinello in 1964, this family estate spans 25 hectares in Janna de Mare near Alghero, where three generations have passionately cultivated indigenous Sardinian varietals. Their Monica showcases the ancient Spanish grape's gentle character, offering an approachable yet structured expression of this beloved island varietal.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red with violet hues, this Monica displays vibrant aromas of ripe red cherries, wild berries, and subtle floral notes, complemented by hints of sweet herbs and delicate spice. On the palate it's smooth and medium-bodied with flavors of red fruit, plums, and a touch of spice. The wine's soft tannins and pleasant finish reveal a hint of bitter almond, creating a balanced and refreshing expression.
