Giovanna Morganti is recognized as one of the new generation's best Tuscan winemakers, crafting wines on just 3 hectares in the hills near Castelnuovo Berardenga. "Cinque" (the five) is blended using five grape varietals used to make the finest Chianti Classico: Sangiovese with Colorino, Mammolo, Fogliatonda and Cilegiolo. Originally the "little brother" of their flagship "Le Trame," this wine has evolved into a serious expression in its own right.
Tasting Notes
Succulent red-toned fruit, spice, blood orange and pomegranate are some of the notes that are dialed up in this forward, racy red. Vibrant, aromatic and fruity, the Cinque is a gorgeous wine to drink now and over the next few years. This unfussy, mid-weight red boasts gorgeous purity of flavor and exceptional balance, with bright acids that pull it all together on the close. It's soft, elegant and gregarious, showcasing the floral side of Sangiovese with such purity and energy.
