Pecchenino is a family-owned winery with deep roots in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy. Established in the late 19th century, the estate has grown from its original 8 hectares to encompass 32 hectares. The Psea vineyard sits at 700 meters elevation in Bossolasco, where Orlando and Attilio Pecchenino invested in premium sparkling production beginning in 2010. The bottles are stored lying down for over 36 months at a temperature of 14/15°C in contact with the yeasts, creating a sparkling wine of exceptional depth and refinement.
Tasting Notes
Intense and complex notes of bread crust, yeast, hazelnut and small pastries, accompanied by floral notes. In the mouth it is structured, creamy, fresh and pleasantly savoury. This pretty sparkler shows fine, sharp beading and a very chiseled bouquet with an emphasis on white mineral or crushed granite. The fruit intensity is dim and delicate, focused mostly on citrus and grapefruit. The style is light and streamlined, but the wine shows lots of easy zesty appeal. The pas dosé style delivers a bone-dry finish with exceptional purity and length.
Pairs With
Fresh oysters, seared scallops, lobster thermidor, aged Parmigiano-Reggiano
