Néboa takes its name from the Galician word found in folklore texts to describe the fog that looms over the hillsides, a poetic reference to the mysterious Atlantic mists that define this coastal region. This wine is a collaboration between Valkyrie Selections and Bodegas Eidosela in the Condado do Tea subregion, crafted from a special single vineyard site that has the potential to make truly world-class Albariño. The partnership represents the dedication to showcasing the unique terroir of this cooler, elevated corner of Rías Baixas.
Tasting Notes
A floral, blossomy nose with peach and apricot aromas which carry through on the palate with taut structure, complex fresh fruit, understated mid-palate weight, all on a strong backbone of mineral acidity. The cooler, higher elevation Condado do Tea subregion gives rise to a fresh, precise expression of Albariño in general and this particular site lends an intense mineral streak through the wine. Just-ripe stone fruits, white honeysuckle and a splash of salt air complete this elegant expression. The wine showcases the distinctive slate soils and Atlantic influence that make this vineyard site so special.
