From a family that moved from Beaujolais to Champagne in the 15th century, Michel Gonet represents six generations of grower Champagne excellence. This cuvée comes from their historic Les Hautes Mottes parcel in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, neighbored by the legendary Les Chétillons vineyard. With zero dosage and extended lees aging, it epitomizes the mineral-driven intensity of Grand Cru Côte des Blancs.
Tasting Notes
Opens with white currants, citrus oil, warm bread and wet stones. Full-bodied and tensile with a racy spine of acidity, fleshy core and long, saline finish. The palate shows crisp green apple, pear and honeysuckle with lightly toasted brioche. Limestone-driven minerality lies underneath, creating elegant austerity with beautiful balance.
Pairs With
Fresh oysters, grilled Dover sole, goat cheese soufflé, seared scallops with caviar
