Viña Mayu was the first winery to bring premium winemaking to northern Chile's Elqui Valley in 2005, taking its name from the Incan word for the Milky Way's "river of stars" to honor the valley's crystal-clear skies. This Sauvignon Blanc is harvested from ungrafted, low-yield vines planted on limestone and chalk soils at over 1,000 feet elevation, where coastal fog meets intense desert sun. The result is a mineral-driven expression of this unique terroir at the foot of the Atacama Desert.
