Crafted by three passionate friends who met in Rioja and established their project in Toledo's high plateau in 1999, this wine represents their dedication to rescuing indigenous varieties and organic viticulture. Made from the rare teinturier grape Alicante Bouschet, locally known as Garnacha Tintorera, it's produced from a single vineyard called "La Madre" and aged 12 months in cement amphorae. This extraordinary wine showcases the innovative spirit of winemakers who honor tradition while embracing the unique terroir of Castilla-La Mancha.
Tasting Notes
Bold ruby in color with crimson highlights from the red-flesh grape. The nose reveals elegant notes of hibiscus, red berries, black cherries, and white pepper, complemented by dark earth and subtle smoked meat nuances. On the palate, fresh redcurrants mingle with white and pink pepper, graphite, lavender, and curry spices, accented by elegant touches of cumin, sandalwood, and white currant. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity and soft tannins, leading to a long, elegant finish with mineral undertones and hints of white tea.
Food Pairings
Hummus and Mediterranean mezze, fried fish and seafood, small game birds, spicy dishes like yellow curry
