Marine Descombe represents the fifth generation of her family's winemaking legacy, taking over the helm of Vins Descombe in Brouilly before age 30. Despite facing challenges from the local patriarchy, she continues her grandfather's tradition started in 1905, recently expanding with the purchase of 17th-century Château Pougelon. This Beaujolais-Villages showcases her commitment to sustainable HVE farming practices across 30 hectares of high-altitude hillside vineyards planted on the region's signature granite soils.

Tasting Notes

Bright aromatic constellation revealing notes of red and black cherries, sweet cranberries, and woodsmoke, complemented by fresh herb tones and a refined mineral base. On the palate, the wine is bright, full-bodied, and succulent at the core with excellent soil signature, tangy acids, and just a touch of backend tannin. The long, complex finish shows beautiful purity of Gamay fruit enhanced by cement aging, with elegant, soft yet vibrant character that dissolves across the palate.
