This exceptional Irancy from Delphine & Grégory Viennois represents a new generation of winemakers elevating this historic appellation in northern Burgundy. Crafted from a blend of four climats - Paradis, Renouel, Beaux Monts and Bâtardes - from vines aged 30-50 years, this wine showcases the concentrated, deeply fruited character that makes Irancy a compelling alternative to Côte d'Or Burgundy. The Viennois duo works in close partnership with acclaimed winemaker Brice Garlan, combining traditional methods with meticulous attention to terroir.
Tasting Notes
Beautiful garnet color with violet highlights typical of warm vintage Irancy. The nose is deep and intensely fruity, centered on fresh red fruit, cherry and blackcurrant, with hints of spice and a touch of elegant vegetation. On the palate, the wine reveals lovely fleshy texture with silky tannins complemented by spices, hints of licorice and morello cherry. The finish is long and enveloping, delivering a satisfying conclusion with graphite minerality and elderberry perfume that speaks to the limestone-rich Kimmeridgian soils.
Food Pairings
Saucisson chaud Lyonnais, roast duck, charcuterie and pâtés, grilled meats
