Founded in 1997 by brothers Mauro and Savio Daniele, Le Strette has been instrumental in rescuing the nearly extinct Nascetta variety from obscurity. In the 1990s, the Daniele brothers tasted a farmer's wine made of Nascetta and immediately understood its quality and fine structure, beginning their timid attempts at vinifying Nascetta in purity. Crucial to the rediscovery and enhancement of this historic white grape was the work of Le Strette.
Tasting Notes
This wine shows gorgeous notes of white fruit, quince and acacia honey with saline characteristics pulled together by breadcrumb-like complexity, despite being vinified only in stainless steel. The aromatic profile is complex and elegant with notes of flowers, acacia honey, citrus fruits and aromatic herbs, expressing slight hints of Muscat in its youth that testify to the semi-aromatic character of the vine. On the palate, it's driven by saline freshness which draws you into long and layered flavors of lemon, green bell pepper, and stone fruit in a mineral, rounded and polished style. It offers good structure and remarkable freshness, with an enveloping, savory character and a slightly bitter finish.
