Le Chant embodies the intertwining of French flair and South African determination, a collaboration between the Oddo family, Willie Joubert (a fifth-generation vigneron from the Polkadraai who manages the farm), and Taaibosch winemakers Schalk-Willem Joubert and Petri Venter. The estate is situated on what was formerly four separate properties, the centre of which was known as Eikenhof, a wine farm in Stellenbosch's Polkadraai Hills. The 2023 vintage benefited from a cool, mild growing season with longer hang-time, leading to expressive flavours with developed sugars offset by energetic, brisk acidity.

Tasting Notes

This wine features a full, rich palate characterized by layered aromas of stone fruit, orange blossom, and a hint of white apple. It maintains a harmonious interplay of oak, acidity, and fresh minerality on the mid-palate. Its remarkable freshness transcends, contributing to an ageing potential exceeding 5 years. The wine shows excellent balance between richness and vibrancy, with the oak integration enhancing rather than masking the natural fruit expression.
