La Cayetana, Syrah 2022 Mendoza, Argentina

La Cayetana is the passionate project of Emilia Soler, crafted in a converted garage with her husband Eduardo of Ver Sacrum winery. The winery focuses on rescuing ancient Mendozan winemaking techniques with a modern approach, restoring their historic property with sustainability at the forefront. This estate-grown Syrah comes from a single vineyard in the prestigious Los Chacayes region of the Uco Valley.

Tasting Notes

The nose is vibrant showing plum, cassis, white pepper, and black olives that leads into a velvety mid palate dominated by blueberry syrup, lavender, and rose petals. A rich, long finish of dark blue and black fruits lingers with medium plus tannins and well integrated oak. Aromas of capsicum, crushed black peppercorns, and brambles give way to spices, silky dark fruits, and chocolate in the mouth. Big fruit flavors with high natural acidity create nice balanced weight on the palate, with fruit, pepper and oak all in harmony.
