Guillaume Gilles continues his family's legacy on the ancient vineyard of Les Peyrouses, having learned from masters Robert Michel and Jean-Louis Chave. This extraordinary cuvée comes from vines planted in the 1870s during phylloxera's initial outbreak—among the first grafted vines in the region. While technically declassified from Cornas, "Les Peyrouses" is dazzling in its wildness, unabashedly sauvage and full-throttle.

Tasting Notes

The nose reveals a gentle air of raspberry with trim sweetness, mulberry jam, and floral sweetness. On the palate, there's thrust in its red berry and raspberry fruit, with busy young tannins that prevail on the final stage and rocky mineral tones. The wine shows a voluptuous, gourmand character with sunny red fruit, hints of violet, and caramel notes. This is good and frank, naked and authentic with character that feels handmade.

Pairs With

Grilled lamb with herbs, beef bourguignon, aged hard cheeses, wild game stew
