Didier Fornerol learned the craft working as vineyard manager and cellar master at Domaine de l'Arlot for almost two decades under Jean Pierre de Smet. This flagship wine comes from 3.7 hectares of family land with 40-year-old vines on average. Known as 'the king of the Côtes de Nuits Villages,' Fornerol creates wines that showcase both classical Burgundian elegance and exceptional value.
Tasting Notes
Lovely nose displaying cranberry, baking spice, foraged mushrooms, hint of rose or violet. The palate offers soft cinnamon, nutmeg, paprika at the fore with red cherry, cranberry, and dusty earth on the finish. Features good acidity and length with slightly drying tannins that are overall really nicely balanced. Red- and dark-fruited, perfectly laced with minerals and subtle spice, and perfectly silky texture.
