Eden Rift, Pinot Noir 'Valliant' 2022 Central Coast, CA

Eden Rift is the oldest continually producing vineyard in California, planted in 1849 by Theophile Vache on a 120-acre estate resting on the San Andreas Faultline. The "Valliant" cuvée pays homage to the Valliant family, who were among the historic proprietors of this legendary estate. Through transparent varieties like Pinot Noir, Eden Rift finds its most honest and pure expression of terroir on this remarkable limestone-rich site.

Tasting Notes

The 2022 vintage showcases bright acidity and balanced structure, with a soft and silky texture, featuring classic cherry pit, savory notes, brambleberry, cherry and plum with a refined finish. In the bouquet, this bottling shows notes of wild berries, spiced cranberry, black cherry as well as purple flowers and vanilla cream, with medium weight, supple tannins and a long, chalky finish.
