Founded in 1901 in Ponte-Leccia, Domaine Vico sits in the rugged center of Corsica at 300+ meters altitude, where winemaker Manu Venturi has transformed this historic estate into one of France's leading biodynamic producers. The vineyard's remarkably complex terroir of schist, basalt, galets roulés, gravel, and clay creates wines of exceptional purity and character. This Cantinone cuvée showcases the native Sciaccarellu grape in all its elegant Corsican glory.
Tasting Notes
Pure Sciaccarellu, this wine displays a luminous, brilliant ruby color with great class. The nose reveals aromas of cherries, raspberries, and red currants, highlighted by blackberry notes, gentle spices, and aromatic herbs. The palate is completely crisp, dominated by red currant and cherry flavors, supported by fresh acidity and balanced, fine, tightly woven tannins. The finish is fresh with notes of tart fruits and aromatic herbs, displaying remarkable sapidity reminiscent of certain Beaujolais.
