Founded in the late 1800s by François Tollot, this family domaine has been a cornerstone of Burgundy winemaking for five generations. Now led by cousins Nathalie, Jean-Paul, and Olivier Tollot, the estate pioneered domain-bottling in 1921 and remains one of Burgundy's most respected producers. Their Les Vercots Premier Cru comes from a historic vineyard site with southwest-facing slopes, producing wines known for their serious yet pleasing style that balances power with elegance.
Tasting Notes
Delicate aromas of cherry bramble, vanilla, savory mint and wild thyme greet the nose. The palate is austere yet generous, with rustic tannins supporting notes of black cherries, red berries, black pepper, and baking spice. Dark cocoa, liquorice and coriander add complexity to this full and robust style, while maintaining appealing zest and freshness. The wine finishes with a saline mineral note that speaks to its terroir origins.
Food Pairings
Roasted Brussels sprouts with Parmesan, grilled duck breast, roasted game birds, dishes featuring mushrooms or black truffles
