Domaine du Trapadis Rasteau, Les Cras 2022 Grenache Blend

Domaine du Trapadis is a Rasteau-based producer with a history that stretches back over four generations. The current head of the estate, Helen Durand, has been running operations since 1996. Helen has slowly evolved in a different direction, with lower intervention and gentler extraction resulting in a more refined, chiseled, and elegant style. Complex but light, these are Grenache-based wines that defy expectations. Covering 34 hectares that are fully organic (Ecocert certified) and practicing biodynamic.

Tasting Notes

This Grenache-dominant blend gradually reveals layers of ripe, rich blackberry and mulberry flavors muted by earth and dusty mineral. It's opulent but calibrated neatly by bites of acidity and firm, persistent tannins. Intense and complex with aromas of black fruit (blackberry, cassis), notes of garrigue (aromatic herbs), spices (black pepper, licorice) and slightly woody touches. The black fruits dominate, accompanied by spices and slight chocolate notes. The finish is long and persistent with a mineral touch.
