This historic 300-year-old estate rose to prominence under André Porcheret, the legendary winemaker who was hand-picked by Lalou Bize-Leroy to create the original wines at Domaine Leroy and served as cellar manager at the Hospices de Beaune. Now led by his granddaughter Cataldina Lippo and her husband Vincent, the estate continues this legacy of excellence, crafting wines that walk the beautiful line between classic and modern with high-tone fruit and clear sense of place. Their wines are delicate and elegant yet with no lack of interest or depth – truly an address that you should know.
Tasting Notes
This vibrant and aromatic wine displays strawberry and violet with a powerful structure and smooth finish. Expect strawberry and cherry fruits with violet and rose floral notes in youth, developing into liquorice, leather and hints of Pinot underbrush with maturity. The youthful firm structure gives way to velvety tannins and delicate texture, embodying the powerful, rich, and meaty character that great Burgundy should possess. Manually harvested and aged in 228L barrels for 12-14 months with additional bottle aging before release.
