Established by Valérie Chaume who rented 4.5 ha of vines from her family, at the age of 23 years old, the domaine extends on approximately 35 hectares cultivated in biodynamy, in absolute respect of nature and soil balance. Made from young vines (30+ years old) from Vinsobres this could be classified as Vinsobres but they have chosen to keep these "younger vines" in this cuvee classified as just Cotes du Rhone making this a bargain offering much greater depth than your average Cotes du Rhone.
Tasting Notes
Beautiful aromas of red fruit, smooth tannins which underline the bright aromas, on the whole a very fresh perfumed and well rounded wine. Ripe red and black berry aromas jump out of the glass followed by dried wild herbs. The palate is bright, fresh and very easy to drink. It is expressive, open-knit, juicy with an attractive touch of yeast, then ripe, soft hedgerow fruits, spice, stones, gravel. The palate is dry, mid-weight, very juicy with black fruits and tapenade and gravelly minerality.
Pairs With
Grilled lamb chops, ratatouille, herb-crusted chicken, charcuterie
