Founded when Vincent Bitouzet of Volnay married Annie Prieur of Meursault, this family domaine combines heritage holdings from both legendary villages in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune. Now run by François Bitouzet from their state-of-the-art winery in Meursault, the estate practices organic viticulture and maintains a minimalist winemaking approach. Their Bourgogne Rouge showcases the family's commitment to producing structured, age-worthy wines that express authentic Burgundian character even at the entry level.
Tasting Notes
Pretty ruby crimson color with floral cherry notes characteristic of the vintage. The wine displays the right acidity with slightly more weight than typical, featuring a fractional firmness of tannins that provides structure. Red fruit flavors are complemented by clean, lingering flavors on the finish. The wine shows good depth of aroma with fine volume and tasty fruit expression throughout.
Food Pairings
Roasted chicken with herbs, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, soft cheeses like Brie
