De Forville 'San Rocco' Nebbiolo d'Alba 2023 Alba, Italy

The De Forville family, with Belgian origins, established themselves in Barbaresco in 1860 and have been crafting exceptional Nebbiolo for over 160 years. Their 'San Rocco' comes from hilltop vineyards perched between the Barbaresco and Barolo zones in the commune of San Rocco d'Elvio. Considered the 'Barolo' of their estate, this wine displays a more structured and powerful character than their Langhe Nebbiolo.

Tasting Notes

This structured Nebbiolo showcases dark berries, sour cherries, and black raspberry with floral hints of blue flowers. Earthy minerality reminiscent of crushed rock and tilled soil adds complexity, while firm tannins provide backbone.
