The third wine from legendary First Growth Château Latour, Le Pauillac de Latour represents exceptional value from one of Bordeaux's most revered estates. Made every year since 1989 and developed primarily for the restaurant market, this wine showcases the unmistakable Latour character at an accessible level. This year includes some declassified lots from Les Forts de Latour, adding remarkable depth to this already impressive bottling.
Tasting Notes
A straight-down-the-line Pauillac with graphite and pencil shavings infusing the black fruit. Exuberant notes of black cherries, blackcurrant jelly, and menthol, plus suggestions of garrigue, candied violets, and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied, fresh and taut, with pliant tannins and fine acidity. A graphite infused finish doesn't press down too hard on the accelerator, delivering elegance over power.
Pairs With
Grilled ribeye steak, roasted lamb with herbs, aged hard cheeses, wild mushroom risotto
