Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico 2020 Berardo Riserva

With a history dating back to the 9th century, Castello di Bossi has evolved with the times while remaining true to the terroir of Chianti. Located in the southernmost appellation of Chianti Classico in Castelnuovo Berardenga, Marco Bacci oversees all operations with careful attention to detail, bringing the estate to the highest ranks of international wine. The wine consultant is Alberto Antonini, whose "less is more" philosophy emphasizes pristine organic fruit and minimal intervention.

Tasting Notes

This riserva has a luminous ruby red color with appealing aromas of dark cherries, plums, sweet spice, violets, vanilla and hints of dark chocolate and menthol. The full-bodied palate features fragrant blue flower, new leather, underbrush and camphor aromas alongside dried cherry, strawberry compote, licorice and tobacco with taut, polished tannins. The wine is full-bodied but smooth with an almost creamy mouthfeel, with tannins well integrated and leading to a subtly sweet, silky finish.
