Founded in 1987 by Michael Etzel and wine critic Robert Parker as brothers-in-law, Beaux Frères has become one of Oregon's most prestigious estates. Now owned by the Henriot group and led by winemaker Mike Etzel, the estate farms their historic 88-acre Ribbon Ridge vineyard biodynamically, crafting wines that showcase the unique terroir of this elevated site. This flagship vineyard bottling represents the pinnacle of their winemaking, sourced from old-vine plantings that have established Beaux Frères as a benchmark producer in the Willamette Valley.

Tasting Notes

A jeweled ruby hue leads to an expressive nose of wild raspberry, black cherry, and plum, beautifully interwoven with crushed violets, rose petals, and forest floor. Subtle notes of sandalwood, spiced tea, and exotic spice add complexity, while hints of truffle and damp earth provide depth. The palate is both powerful and refined, with velvety, well-integrated tannins and layers of bright red fruit—strawberry, blackberry, and redcurrant—complemented by savory undertones of dried herbs and a delicate minerality. The finish is elegant and tapered, with fine-grained tannins and excellent aging potential.

Food Pairings

Duck confit with cherry gastrique, wild mushroom risotto, grilled salmon with herbs, aged hard cheeses
