From vitner Ezio Cocito's friendship with La Spinetta's Giorgio Rivetti comes this exceptional Barbaresco, born from a shared passion for horses and fine wine. Crafted from Nebbiolo grapes grown at one of Barbaresco's highest elevations in the Baluchin vineyard—meaning 'star' in Piedmontese dialect—this wine reflects the precision and elegance possible only from such rarified terroir. Ezio's artisanal approach yields just 300-400 cases annually, each bottle representing the culmination of organic farming and meticulous winemaking in collaboration with La Spinetta's renowned facilities.
Tasting Notes
Grenade and ruby hues lead to an aromatic bouquet of rose petals, ripe red fruit, and fresh balsamic herbs. On the palate, this powerful, dense wine reveals layers of black fruit, tobacco, cedar, menthol, chocolate and licorice that build complexity with each sip. The wine shows full body and excellent structure with soft, silky tannins and remarkable elegance. A long, persistent finish showcases the wine's brooding, somber character while maintaining beautiful balance.
Food Pairings
Roasted meats, wild game, fine aged cheeses, braised short ribs
