A legend of the Northern Rhône, Alain Graillot founded his domaine in 1985 after learning from Jacques Seysses at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy. From his organically farmed vineyards on the stony alluvial soils near Pont de l'Isère, Graillot crafts wines that have earned him recognition as one of the most sought-after producers in the region. This 2021 vintage showcases his passionate devotion to expressing the true character of Syrah through traditional winemaking and meticulous attention to detail.

Tasting Notes

A refined and expressive Syrah with vibrant aromas of dark berries, violet, black cherries, and white pepper, carrying subtle smoky and earthy notes. The palate is medium-bodied with silky, velvety tannins and bright acidity, revealing layers of red currants, plums, and garrigue spices with hints of pencil shavings and stemmy funk from whole-cluster fermentation. The wine balances freshness and complexity with a seamless, extremely persistent finish marked by minerality and savory elements. Full-bodied yet fresh and lifted, it offers both immediate pleasure and unfolding complexity.

Food Pairings

Roasted leg of lamb, pork tenderloin, grilled beef with herbs, charcuterie and aged cheeses
