Proprietor Marc de Grazia is one of the pioneers of the Etna, among the first to recognize the value of these once-forgotten, ancient terroirs and to bring attention to their specific qualities. The estate's proprietor was instrumental in elevating Mount Etna wines to world-class status, taking full advantage of the mountain's volcanic soil and high-altitude microclimate to produce wines that exude minerality, freshness, and aromatic complexity. Tenuta delle Terre Nere is considered a benchmark producer, with Marco de Grazia lauded for his foresight and pioneering spirit in putting Sicily on the fine wine map.
Tasting Notes
A whiff of lemon oil mixes with sweet mint and crushed rocks as the wine opens in the glass, juicy and playful in feel with ripe melon and a cascade of inner florals that swirl throughout, leaving a salty sensation and nuances of candied citrus on the wickedly fresh finish. Fresh and floral but with white pepper and a noticeably assertive smoky minerality, light-bodied, shining with silky texture and zesty yet integrated acidity. Shows attractive aromas of citrus and stone fruit with hints of seashell, with stony and ashy undertones, medium-bodied, tangy, and fresh with vivid acidity and a polished mineral backbone.
