I Vigneri, known for their commitment to natural winemaking, has produced a wine that is both approachable and complex. Salvo Foti's project I Vigneri takes its name from an association that existed in the Etna region in 1435, Maestranzi dei Vigneri, an association of vineyard workers that greatly influenced the wine culture of the Etna region. It would be nearly impossible to find an estate on Etna producing anything approaching the intense quality here.

Tasting Notes

A juicy and crunchy young red showing dark fruits, citrus and minerals. Medium-bodied with deep berry and basalt undertones. Pure and downright delightful, brighter than recent years, with rosy florals, savory herbs, and crushed raspberry fruit. A wine that is both juicy and driven, reeling with sweet cherry and spices, coupled with Etna's distinctive smoke and some gentle tobacco notes. An archetypal Etna Rosso, with notes of smoke and flint that temper notes of juicy strawberry and anise. Offers a balance of fresh acidity, minerality, and delicate fruit flavors.

Pairs With

Grilled meats such as lamb or pork, roasted vegetables like eggplant and peppers, pasta dishes with tomato-based sauces or those featuring olives, capers, and anchovies, aged cheeses such as Pecorino or Caciocavallo
