He graduated from Alba's Scuola Viticole Umberto I in 1993, joining his father Americo at the Monforte D'Alba domaine following apprenticeships with legendary producers Giacomo Conterno and Roberto Voerzio. Since the mid 2000's he completely changed his style by giving priority to the care of the vineyards without using herbicides, with barriques replaced by big oak barrels, pressing done with feet and only indigenous yeasts used.
