For four generations, the Rollin family has cultivated their 14 hectares across five communes in Burgundy with meticulous care and sustainable viticulture. The estate is masterfully managed by Simon and Caroline, who balance traditional know-how with modern technology while respecting the grapes and terroir. Les Cloux is a well-situated lieu-dit on the north side of Corton hill, adjacent to premier cru Sous Fretille, facing southeast on steep terrain where the lack of direct breeze encourages notable ripeness.
Tasting Notes
Fresh and gourmand nose with toasted bread notes, followed by Granny Smith apple and yellow lemon, anise-scented chervil, lavender buds, mint, and iced nettle soup with a tonic Ricqlès touch and just-picked orchard fruits. The palate shows amplitude and fruit maturity with dense, ample juice featuring blood orange, stone fruits, mango, pineapple and passion fruit flavors, finishing with abundant spices that are almost peppery. Deeper and more solid than basic Pernand-Vergelesses with limestone intensity, richer and thicker texture suffused with alert acidity typical of Rollin's style.
Pairs With
Monkfish with saffron, curried prawns or cod, Mediterranean fish tagine, grilled shellfish
