Founded by two Italian-rooted friends in 2017, Bira Wines represents a unique fusion of Italian winemaking tradition with Argentine terroir in the high-altitude Uco Valley. This exceptional Malvasia comes from historic vines planted in 1964 at La Arboleda, making it the only white Malvasia vinified in Argentina. The wine showcases the founders' mission to honor the legacy of Italian winemakers in Mendoza while creating something distinctly innovative.
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow with golden reflections, this distinctive white opens with an elegant bouquet of white flowers, honeysuckle, and Thai basil, complemented by hints of rose and Muscat-like aromatics. The palate reveals sweet peach, white peach, and honeydew melon, balanced by citrus notes and wet stone minerality. With 30% of the wine fermented on skins, it offers texture and fine tannins alongside lifting acidity, creating a dry, lean profile with a clean, vibrant finish that allows the complex flavors to linger beautifully.
Food Pairings
Grilled white fish with herbs, shellfish and tuna dishes, sushi and sashimi, roasted vegetables with Mediterranean flavors
